Features of the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Within Skyrim exists five unique cities, quite a bit larger than those in Oblivion’s Cyrodiil setting, with huge expanses of wilderness and mountainous ranges. When visiting cities, the player can participate in activities such as farming and mining, and is has the ability to smith weapons from a forge as part of the crafting system. One of the exciting new features introduced in Skyrim is the capability of using Dragon Shouts — powerful skills gained by slaying dragons, examples of which include teleportation, manipulating time and summoning dragons to aid the player. So far, there is thought to be about twenty different Dragon Shouts to be found throughout the adventure.

Hi. I really hope this info. is accurate. Bethesda are holding things pretty close to the chest on this release. May I ask where you found these system requirements?

  2. [...] system requirements is listed here for that game. http://www.elderscrollv.com/skyrim-system-requirements/ *Recommended* gpu – gtx460 or hd5850 cpu – 3ghz quad core with 2ghz daul core minimum ram – 3gb [...]

Will A Radeon HD 5450 Work? its GDDR3 So I know it wont be Amazing graphics but Im look for medium range graphics with very little lag. Thoughts?

    • Bondondo says:

Yeah i dont know dddr is more for it plus skyrim has no such thing as mid range graphics if u cant cope it cant play plus i wont be able to :p

    • weeeeee says:

Nah, 5450 is a low end card. Since 8800GT is the minimum, you shouldn’t go for anything weaker than a 5650/70 Radeon card.

  4. Yaswanth says:

    Please reply me

    My graphic card is 9400GT

    AMD PhenomII X4(Quad core) 3.20GHZ
    6GB Ram
    Windows 7 64 bit

Can i run this game in medium settings with very little lag?

    • Invidias says:

      @Yaswanth

Your cpu is the same as mine, but mine for some reason gets 3.4 GHZ. Your cpu should be fine, it clears the reccomended specs (by 0.2 GHZ).

Your RAM will be fine as well. I, personally, should see about adding a couple gigs since I only have 4GB.

Win7 64 bit is also fine. Having a 64bit cpu will actually help quite a bit.

I have no idea about your graphics card though. You have enough VRAM on it, but with a game as complex as Skyrimn I’m not sure about the clock speed.

    • Scorch says:

Definitely not. Your graphics card isn’t anything near the power of the minimum. Memory wise it makes it but power wise it is half the minimum. You would be lucky to get a okay frame rate at lowest. Sorry but you need an upgrade for video card. I recommend a 560 Ti.

    • weeeeee says:

No way, 9400GT is not even close to the 8800GT, which is the minimum required

      • Yaswanth says:

My monitor resolution is only 1024*768 so i am hoping to play it atleast low settings without lag

        Can I play the game?

  5. joshua says:

i hope my phenom x3 2.6 ghrz, 8 gigs ddr3 ram and 3870×2 1gig card will run it. I play deus ex human revolution no problem!

  6. .45 says:

    @ That Guy + @ Yaswanth

Low settings, with stutter. You want to play PC games you need a proper gaming PC – both those cards are at the very bottom of the pile. You’d need at least a 6870 for fairly smooth high 1080p gameplay, not console resolution.

  7. Invidias says:

I have a pathetic ATI HD 5400 series graphics card in my desktop. It needs to be replaced. Please list some cards that you think will run Skyrim smoothly on mostly high settings, with these other specs.

    cpu: AMD PhenomII X4 3.4GHZ
    RAM: 4GB (enough? or not?)
    power supply: 500W
    OS: win7 64bit

    Also, @thatguy:
Sorry, but that video card is pretty similar to mine. I doubt it will even run low settings very well. It’ll need an upgrade, but be careful that your card isn’t too much for your power supply to handle.

  8. Gab says:

Hey what’s better? I’m not a computer person on specs but I’m sure going to be hooked up to this kickass game! Can I run this game smoothly?

    Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz
    or
    i5-480M 2.66GHz

    My laptop:
Intel core i5-480M 2.66GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz
AMD Radeon HD 6550M up to 1659MB HyperMemory
    4GB DDR3 Memory
    750GB HDD

    E-mail me your answers: Gabgetzpwned@yahoo.com
    Thanks!

  9. pithagoras88 says:

    i have notebook aspire 5750G,intel i7,Nvdia GT 540M,can i play this game on medium setting,anyone please…..

  10. That Guy says:

I dont mind playing on low settings as long as the frame skip isnt ridiculous and the fps is 25+

  11. Denis says:

well i also have geforce 9400gt 1gb, 2gb ram and athlon 64 x2 5000+. i can run rage almost without any lag so i do believe im also gona be able to run skyrim. even on low

  12. PCtalk says:

guys, I really doubt you’ll need a core 2 quad at 3.0 ghz to max this game. i’m sure a q6600 should be optimal, there’s no telling though until the game comes out.

for everyone asking about if their gpu will handle the game here’s my response to weather the game will run

9400 gt-lowest possible settings with marginal performance this is a very outdated card and was intended as a low end release.
ati 5000 series: if you’re packing a 5770 or better, you should be able to run on mid-high settings depending on your CPU the 5800 series will definitely run this on high if not be able to max it
ati 6000 series: i’d say you’d be able to run it on high with a 6850. you’d probably be able to max it with a 6900 series card.

    for nvidia users

gtx 260 should be able to run on mid-high, same with the gtx 275 (people really underestimate these cards)
gtx 280-285 I’m gonna say will be able to run the game well on high settings.

gtx 400 series: as long as you have a 460 or greater you should be able to run it decently on high settings

gtx 500 series: the 560 should be able to run the game well, gtx 570/580/590 should max this.

i hope this helps ppl out. for those curious about my personal computer, i have a:

core i7 920 OC’d to 3.5 ghz (could push higher if only i had a better cpu cooler =( )
    6 gigs ddr3 @ 1600 (OC)
    GTX 570hd
all on an asus p6t board

i would be very surprised if I couldn’t max this with the exception of anti-aliasing.

  13. Takash says:

I was wondering if my laptop can run this?
    Processor: Processor:Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 900 @2.20GHz 2.19GHz

    Ram:3.00 GB

    System type:32-bit

    Oh and Graphic’s card is:Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family, which I am guessing is not that great since my computer is a vista after all… ; .;

    • PCtalk says:

that system is below the minimum requirements

your CPU is below system requirements. also you have an integrated graphics card. you have no dedicated graphics processor which means every calculation has to be done on your CPU.

    • LeadStarDude says:

You are screwed all the way around. This page clearly states the requirements above.

  14. marcus says:

Do you think I’ll be able to run Skyrim fine at 1080p? Preferably with all the settings maxed out.

  18. Bob says:

    Hi.

I’d like to know if I can run this game with a large render, good texture qualities, no AA at all, and generally decent graphics at good FPS.

    I have:

    Phenom x2 555 BE @ 3.2 GHz

EVGA GTS 450 w/ core clock @ 882 MHz. ( I can pull 920 no problem, but I don’t want shorten the card’s span yet until Skyrim comes out)

8 GB of ram (1333 I think. I don’t know a whole lot about RAM yet)

Some generic MSI board. I don’t think I can unlock Phenom on this board, if that helps.

    Thanks! :D

Hey guys, I have a question. I’m not quite sure how well my comp will run this game, here are my system specs, I believe I meet the required stats on everything but the CPU, but I am also no computer guru, and help would be greatly appreciated, I really want to enjoy this game on my PC. I’m fine with low-mid settings if I can actually play the game with an okay FPS. Well, here they are:

Now I am not looking for high settings, but will that even be able to run it at low without chop? I know it says 2.0 dual, but I often find that means choppy play during heavy action sequences. Any help would be appreciated, it was not until recently that I could even afford better systems (dont even want to know what it was before I had it gutted and rebuilt).

    • Responder says:

Hmmm… Your cpu is the weakest link. Lower the resolution a bit and you’ll help the fps a lot, but I just don’t know about that cpu. It’s pretty weak. It might be worth your time to install Gamebooster or something similar; it’ll help your cpu if it’s under stress.

It doesn’t help me, but that’s because my cpu is the best part of my pc.

What’s up with everyone posting; can my PC run it??, the minimum requirements clearly states all that is needed.. 8800GT etc, not is this enough and, don’t ask can my rig/PC run it… Get the minimum specs or even better the recommended

BUY NEW HARDWARE.. a new gfx card is always a major increase in any game’s performance.
    ANYWAY:

Can’t wait for it to come out. Hope we here in South Africa will also see it on the 11.11.11

I have had very little problems running RAGE so I don’t see why I wouldn’t be able to play Skyrim. These people on here claiming you need some sort of super gaming PC to play Skyrim are insane. I know I will have to play at mid to low setting, but why are people claiming that I won’t even get Skyrim to play? My main problem is my GPU and it is still closer to the recomended than it is to the minimum. OMG!
