There is some potentially upsetting news for Skyrim fans everywhere this week as a result of this most recent rumor and development.
Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter said in an a recent interview with CVG that he believes that Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim is one of two game titles that may say a release date push back to February 2012.
Pachter stated, “The only ones that have any risk are Skyrim and Saint’s Row. The former because Bethesda will launch when it’s ready, and it won’t hurt the game to move into February; the latter a very low probability, since it looks close to complete, and because THQ needs it in the holiday quarter, but given reviews on Homefront, they may choose to delay for more polish.”"
Analysts like Pachter believe that because there are so many high profile titles being released in the November time frame, that Bethesda would have nothing to lose by pushing back the release date three months for a polished release and a less competitive market.
Other fourth quarter 2012 titles include Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, Need for Speed: The Run, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, , Saints Row, Diablo 3, and Guild Wars II.
If the release date is pushed back, what will you do? Will you buy one of these other titles in the meantime or wait it out for the Elder Scrolls???
The current release date for Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is 11/11/11.
